My work as co-chair of the UN/ECE TFEIP Projections Expert Panel aims to improve emission projections estimates
Melanie Hobson, Director
Melanie provides technical leadership across air quality pollutant and greenhouse gas emission estimates, projections and mitigation actions as well as Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV). She has provided support to numerous countries around the world in undertaking reviews, developing their air quality and greenhouse gas emissions inventories and MRV / transparency systems and providing capacity building. Countries include those in Asia, the Caribbean, Central and South America, Africa, the UAE and many European Countries. She is a qualified UNFCCC GHG inventory reviewer for the energy sector and Biennial Transparency Reports and is a co-chair of the UN/ECE TFEIP Projections Expert Panel, which aims to improve national emission projections estimates. Melanie also provides technical advice to Aether’s air quality assessment team.
When not at work, Melanie can be found triathlon training, dinghy sailing and attempting to grow fruit and vegetables.

Aether worked with the Vice President’s Office of the United Republic of Tanzania to develop an historical and projected GHG inventory and a sustainable national inventory system. The project delivered a tailored version of our innovative MRV portal. It was guided by high levels of stakeholder consultation and provided training to Tanzanian experts at two workshops.
