University of Edinburgh Carbon Modelling and Scenarios Tool

Aether have been appointed by the University of Edinburgh (UoE) to develop a new tool to manage, report and forecast carbon emissions for the university’s estate and operations.

Chris Dore chaired the annual meeting of the Task Force on Emissions Inventories and Projections (TFEIP) in Milan last week. The TFEIP co-ordinates technical work on emissions of air pollutants within EMEP, and is responsible for maintaining the EMEP/EEA Emissions Inventory Guidebook.

The UK’s greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory consists of the national GHG emissions presented in the UNFCCC’s Common Reporting Format (CRF), and the National Inventory Report (NIR). The NIR follows a UNFCCC-required structure and details the methods used to calculate the UK’s GHG emissions.
